Giving the dog presents is always sad because we all have to sit there while my sister uses the dog’s paw to tear open the gift while he stares out the window. The display of dependency makes my entire family noticeably vulnerable and my mom, who is usually drunk by then, will make a comment about how life moves in the wrong direction. But yeah, the dog’s name is Eric and we’ll probably get him some gloves or something this year.
